Heart conditions are treated by a cardiologist, with medicines, procedures and regular check-ups. Nothing here replaces that. Acupuncture does not unblock arteries or treat a heart attack.
Where it can help is around the edges of the illness: stress, anxiety, disturbed sleep and the general tiredness that many heart patients live with.
What people come to us with
- Stress and anxiety after a heart diagnosis or procedure
- Poor sleep
- Tiredness and low stamina
- High blood pressure being managed with medicine
- Aches and stiffness during recovery
How treatment is approached
Treatment for heart patients is deliberately gentle. Sujok points on the hand and light acupressure are used most, so there is very little strain on the body.
Please bring your cardiologist’s reports and your list of medicines. It is important to mention blood thinners, a pacemaker or a recent procedure before treatment begins.
Therapies used: sujok therapy, acupressure, acupuncture. Home visits are available.
What to expect
People commonly describe feeling calmer and sleeping better. Some studies suggest a modest effect on blood pressure, but results vary and this is not a substitute for your medicine.
Continue every prescribed medicine and keep all your cardiology appointments.
See a doctor first if you have
- Chest pain, pressure or tightness: call an ambulance, do not wait
- Breathlessness at rest, or waking breathless at night
- Fainting, or a very fast or irregular heartbeat
- New swelling in the feet or legs
Common questions
Can acupuncture treat a heart blockage?
No. Blockages are treated by a cardiologist. Acupuncture, acupressure and sujok are supportive care for wellbeing only.
I take blood thinners. Can I still be treated?
Yes, but please say so first. Needle-free methods such as acupressure and sujok with seeds are generally preferred.
I have a pacemaker. Is it safe?
Tell the practitioner before treatment. Electrical stimulation is not used for people with pacemakers; manual methods are used instead.
