Sujok Therapy in Seawoods, Navi Mumbai

A Korean method that treats the whole body through matching points on the hands and feet.

Sujok is a method developed in Korea by Professor Park Jae Woo. In Korean, "su" means hand and "jok" means foot. The method treats the hands and feet as small maps of the whole body: each part of the body has a matching point on the palm, fingers or sole.

Because treatment is given only on the hands and feet, it is simple to receive. You stay fully clothed and seated, which makes it practical for elderly patients and for home visits.

How sujok therapy works

The practitioner finds the point on the hand or foot that corresponds to the affected part of the body. These points are often noticeably tender when there is a problem in the matching area.

The point is then stimulated using a small probe, seeds taped to the skin, tiny magnets, colour, gentle warmth or very small needles, depending on the case.

Sujok is used mainly for pain and stiffness, and as supportive care in long-term conditions. It does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.

What a session is like

You sit comfortably and the practitioner examines points on your hands or feet with a probe to find the tender ones. Treatment is then applied to those points.

Seeds or small magnets may be taped in place so the stimulation continues after you leave. You will be told how long to keep them on and how to press them.

Who it suits

  • People who want a gentle treatment on the hands and feet only
  • Elderly patients and people with limited mobility
  • People who want something they can continue at home with seeds
  • People with pain in an area that is too tender to treat directly

Questions about sujok therapy

What does sujok mean?

It is Korean: "su" is hand and "jok" is foot. The therapy treats the body through corresponding points on the hands and feet.

Does sujok use needles?

Not always. Many sujok treatments use only a probe, seeds or magnets. Where very small needles are helpful, this is explained to you first and is always your choice.

Why are seeds taped to my hand?

A seed gives gentle, continuous pressure on the point, so the treatment carries on between visits. Pressing it a few times a day adds to the effect.
